The Lost Gate
The Lost Gate takes place in a world of our own, but some chapters feature another world where a different main caharacter is. These worlds are related yet the main character in either of the worlds never actually crosses over in the actual story line. Note that such chapters alternate previously stated alternate in the book. For one part of the story, the main character is Danny. He is a gatemage, a mage that can summon gates, or portals, at will. He was once part of the North family but has to flea where he refines his power. For the other part of the story, the main character is Wad. Only later in the story does the reader know him as Wad. Before, (Spoiler) he is the man in tree. I like the story line very much but like most of Orson Scott Card's novels, his ingenuity sometimes confused me at parrts of the story. As such I give The Lost Gate a 9/10
